Have fun studying basic to advanced techniques in acrylic, watercolor and oil painting.

Learn to apply different mediums, color mixing, and applications using classical painting techniques. Practice building still-life settings to paint and explore landscape painting. There will be an emphasis on a realistic approach to oil painting and advanced students may want to explore the Venetian technique of Verdaccio for portraits. Students are encourage to have input as to what they particularly want to study.
Ages: 9 – 17
Fee: $100.00, plus supplies
A supply list will be provided in advance of the first class; students are welcome to bring their own materials.

Bedford artist Judy Hylton has shared her love of painting with students in the Bedford County school system and through youth and adult classes at Bower Center for the Arts.
Hylton prefers to work in the realistic style of 17th century Dutch painters, but teaches different techniques in accordance with the preferences of her students.
Recent exhibits include More Than a Mountain, Passing the Passion, and Celebrating the Art of Bedford City and County Art Teachers.

Registration is not complete until full payment is received by the Bower Center.
Cancellation Policy
Classes subject to cancellation by the Bower Center if minimum attendance is not met or other circumstances beyond our control; 100% refund applies.
If attendee cancels, 85% of class fees will be refunded, unless the withdrawal notice is received within one week (7 days) of the first class meeting, then no refund will be issued.
