Beginning Pottery

Tuesdays,  March 20 - May 15,  6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This class is perfect for first-timers (ages 15 and up) or those with only a minimal introduction to pottery. Learn a variety of interesting hand building techniques to create bowls, mugs, planters and boxes. Work on the potters wheel for the first time or to improve your proficiency. Learn to make a teapot or casserole dish with a lid, a dinnerware set and advanced glazing techniques? And… do you have a special project in mind? Debbie will help evaluate your ideas and get you off in the right direction. This is the perfect opportunity to receive personalized attention. No experience necessary.

Fee: $150

Supplies: $30 (includes 25lb bag of clay, glazes & firing; additional supplies and firing time may be purchased)

Background
Debbie Hughes, owner of Painted Ponies Pottery in Lowry, VA, has over 25 years of experience teaching pottery at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, and has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts for a number of years. Her classes cover many different aspects of pottery making and will be tailored to the experience level of the students.

After submitting your registration you may pay online (if available for this class) or by check/cash (see payment instructions in your confirmation email).

Registration is not complete until full payment is received by the Bower Center.

Cancellation Policy

Classes subject to cancellation by the Bower Center if minimum attendance is not met or other circumstances beyond our control; 100% refund applies.

If attendee cancels, 85% of class fees will be refunded, unless the withdrawal notice is received within one week (7 days) of the first class meeting, then no refund will be issued.
