Saturday, June 16   9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Participants will become acquainted with the various methods of preparing a gourd bowl for application of wax and the use of specific tools. This use of crayons was developed by Miriam Joy and utilizes a melting pot and stylus for the design.
After a brief introduction to gourds in the morning, there will be practice time for applying wax on gourd scraps. A painted gourd and all necessary tools will be provided and by the close of the day, all will have a completed decorated gourd. The instructor will also demonstrate some different wax ideas and patterns.
Using an apron or wearing old clothes is a good idea.
For beginners, ages 14 and up
