Meet Robert Hunter
Robert S. Hunter lives on the Potomac River in a small Craftsman Cottage with 2 Black cats – Betty and Pepper, a Corgi named Cassie May and his wife of 49 years - Rosan. Upon retiring from teaching he built a studio in the back of his house and now is “living the dream”- creating prints and showing them all over the US and Europe. His printmaking has a major digital component which was inspired through his study of digital imaging at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the possibility of Flying Saucers. One of my fondest childhood memories is watching “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with my father. The focus of my prints in this “Saucer Dreams” Exhibition is essentially comparison and contrasts. Taken as a whole this series of prints explore the subject of “Flying Saucers” in both a Pop Art and in a Neo Surreal context. They reflect my interest in popular culture as well as in subjects that inspire surreal expressions of the divine and sublime. It is my hope that my prints will provoke intellectual curiosity as well as provide aesthetic satisfaction viewed through the lens of Pop Art and Surrealism.” … Robert Hunter
