Yang Style 16 Form is a relatively new form developed in early 2000 and was developed as a form that is easier than the traditional 24 form.
The Yang short form is the entry point for most people into the world of Tai Chi and its internal energetics. There are over 20 variations of the Yang style, with corresponding variations in the short form.
Steve Garay, Tai Chi instructor at Bower Center, is trained to teach Sun and Yang style Tai Chi and Qigong, including programs specially designed for those with diabetes and arthritis, and Tai Chi Cane and Sword forms.
Tai Chi originated in China 100's of years ago and today is practiced throughout the world as an exercise for better health and wellness. Many scientific studies have proven that it is amazingly effective for health.
Why do Tai Chi? It is a fun and easy exercise to learn. It is a low impact exercise that consists of slow, relaxed movements that help to develop internal and external balance and harmony, improve circulation and fitness levels, and increase oxygen to our bodies. The moves are practiced in a slow controlled fashion that relaxes the body and clears the mind. Regular practice of Tai Chi Ch’uan slowly, yet measurably, improves ones overall fitness and harmony, including relaxation, balance, posture, flexibility and immunity.
