Bower Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Andrea Wild as its 2025 Suzie Viemeister Artist in Residence.
The residency honors the legacy of Suzanne “Suzie” Viemeister, a beloved philanthropist and art collector who inspired the Bedford community through her passion and tireless commitment to supporting the arts. Known for one of the region’s most extensive and eclectic art collections, Suzie’s generosity and keen eye for exceptional talent helped cultivate a thriving arts environment in Bedford and beyond.
Through the generosity of the Viemeister family, Suzie’s impact continues with the Suzie Viemeister Emerging Artist Residency Program, established in 2018 following a special auction of her personal collection. The residency offers a private, rent-free studio and valuable opportunities for professional development. Artists gain experience in exhibit preparation, business management, collaboration with other artists, and marketing, including social media engagement. The residency concludes with a one-month solo exhibition, scheduled for November 25, 2025, through January 24, 2026.
Andrea has already begun working in her third-floor studio at Bower Center, where visitors are encouraged to stop in and view her work. She describes herself as a “Jack of all trades, master of none,” with creative passions spanning gardening, painting, drawing, mosaics, fiber arts, pottery, marionette-making, and more. In her artist statement, she shares, “I consider myself a multimedia artist as I cannot limit myself to one medium for a curiosity in another.”
